Thanks for your email. It’s fine to paint the floor but I would apply paint thinly and try to minimise paint running into the gaps as far as possible. Otherwise paint will collect and harden above the StopGap and this might compromise the seal’s ability to keep expanding and contracting over the seasons with the shrinking and swelling of the boards. Of course, even if this happens, you will still have infinitely less draught than BS (before StopGap).
